Itinerary

Day 1: Arequipa – Chivay

06:30 to 7:30 am This tour begins with the pick up from your hotels to start the excursion to the Grand Canyon of Colca, we take the road that goes through Yura passing behind the snowy Chachani, where you can appreciate the figure of the Misti volcano.

We will stop in Pampa Cañahuas, a plain located in the vicinity of the Aguada Blanca reserve, in this place you can appreciate the different species of South American camelids (vicuñas, llamas, alpacas).Later we will visit Pata Pampa, the highest place of the route 4 800 m.a.s.l. here is the Mirador de los Andes.

1:00 pm We will arrive at a funfo where we will have lunch in the countryside with a local family. We will share with the local people their customs and experiences. And we will have the opportunity to wear their typical costumes for photos. Then we will continue to the thermal baths of Chacapi and transfer to Chivay to your respective accommodations.

Overnight.

Day 2: Chivay - Colca - Arequipa

Breakfast at the hotel 06.00am. departure to the Mirador de la Cruz del Condor, (optional 40 min walk to the edge of the canyon to the viewpoint) from where you can observe the depth and beauty of the Colca Canyon and enjoy the flight of the condors that are lords and masters of this great canyon.

On the way back we will visit the different viewpoints such as: Antahuilque, Wayraounku, choquetico and the town of Maca. Lunch in Chivay and in the afternoon we will return by the same route to Arequipa, arriving approx. at 16:30 to 17:00 hrs..
