Day 2: Summit Day
The second day of the Condoriri 3-day trekking expedition is the main summit day experience in the Cordillera Real, starting early in the morning from Chiar Khota base camp at Cordillera Real.
We begin an alpine start for this challenging high-altitude trekking and mountaineering adventure in Bolivia, as we aim to reach the iconic Cabeza del Condor summit (Condoriri area). The route starts over loose rocky terrain typical of the Andes mountain trekking conditions, requiring steady ascent and good acclimatization.
As we gain elevation, the terrain gradually becomes more technical, with sections of ice and mixed glacier climbing, offering a true Bolivia alpine trekking experience. This part of the journey is ideal for travelers looking for a safe introduction to basic mountaineering in the Andes.
Upon reaching the summit, we enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding glacial peaks, alpine lakes, and the dramatic Cordillera Real landscape, one of the highlights of this Condoriri trekking tour in Bolivia.
After taking photos and enjoying the summit experience, we begin the descent following the same route back to Chiar Khota base camp, completing a rewarding and scenic high-altitude summit day in the Bolivian Andes.
