Itinerary
Day 1: La Paz – Pinaya – Puente Rocoto
Your Illimani Climbing 4 Days expedition begins with hotel pick-up in La Paz at 09:00 AM. Travel by private vehicle toward the traditional village of Pinaya (approx. 4,000 m), located at the base of the majestic Illimani Mountain.
Upon arrival, enjoy lunch and prepare for the first stage of your Illimani trek. Begin a gradual hike (approx. 3–4 hours) along a well-defined trail, gaining altitude through high Andean landscapes with impressive views of the surrounding peaks.
Arrive at Puente Roto Base Camp (4,500 m), where your guide will set up the camp and prepare dinner. Take the afternoon to rest, hydrate, and acclimatize in preparation for the higher altitudes ahead.

Day 2: Puente Rocoto – Hight camp (Nido de Condores)
After an early breakfast at Base Camp, begin the next stage of your Illimani Climbing expedition. Around 09:30 AM, start the ascent toward High Camp – Nido de Cóndores (5,500 m), following a steep and rocky trail with increasing altitude and spectacular views over the Cordillera Real.
During the climb, take a rest stop at approximately 5,000 m for lunch and acclimatization. This section of the Illimani trek is physically demanding, as you gain significant altitude in a short distance, making a steady pace essential.
In the afternoon, continue the ascent toward Nido de Cóndores, reaching camp at around 16:00. From this high-altitude camp, enjoy breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding glaciers and peaks.
Upon arrival, your guide will set up the tents and prepare dinner while you rest and hydrate. The evening is dedicated to recovery and preparation for the summit attempt the following day.

Day 3: High Camp (Nido Codores) – Illimani - Pinaya
Summit day begins very early. Wake up at 01:00 AM for a light breakfast, and around 02:00 AM start the ascent to the summit of Illimani (6,438 m). Equipped with crampons and roped to your guide, you will follow a technical glacier route under the stars.
The first section climbs along a ridge with slopes of around 40–45°, followed by a mix of snowfields and gradual rises. Near 6,000 m, you will face the most demanding section: a steep ice wall of approximately 50–55° over 100 meters, requiring careful technique and focus.
After approximately 5–7 hours of climbing, reach the summit of Illimani, where you will enjoy breathtaking panoramic views over the Cordillera Real and the vast Andean landscape. After a short rest and time for photos, begin the descent.
Return to High Camp (Nido de Cóndores) around late morning, where you will have lunch and a brief rest. In the afternoon, continue descending to Base Camp and further down to Pinaya village, completing a long but rewarding day.
Upon arrival, the team will set up camp, and you will enjoy dinner and a well-deserved rest.

Day 4: Pinaya – La Paz
