Day 1: Cusco - Hydroelectric - Aguas Calientes

Your Machu Picchu adventure begins with an early departure from Plaza de Regocijo, Cusco at 07:00 AM. Travel by comfortable tourist transport through the spectacular Sacred Valley, crossing dramatic Andean mountain landscapes, scenic valleys, and the lush high jungle (cloud forest) region, where nature and culture blend into unforgettable scenery.

Along the route, pass through the impressive Abra Málaga Pass (4,350 m / 14,271 ft), enjoying breathtaking views of snow-capped mountains, tropical vegetation, and diverse ecosystems before descending toward Hydroelectric Station.

Upon arrival, enjoy a delicious lunch in Santa Teresa before starting the famous Hydroelectric trek to Aguas Calientes. The hike covers approximately 10.5 km (6.5 miles), following the scenic railway surrounded by mountains, rivers, waterfalls, and cloud forest landscapes.

The route includes a short 25-minute flat walk from the bus terminal to the Hydroelectric entrance, a brief 10-minute uphill section, followed by approximately 2 hours of easy trekking along the railway tracks to Aguas Calientes (Machu Picchu Pueblo).

Arrive in Aguas Calientes around 5:30 – 5:50 PM, where you will check in to your hotel and enjoy dinner. In the evening, meet your professional Machu Picchu guide for an informative briefing about the next day’s guided tour of Machu Picchu.

Day 2: Machu Picchu - Hydroelectric - Cusco

Start your day early with breakfast at 4:00 AM in Aguas Calientes, preparing for your unforgettable Machu Picchu guided tour. At 5:20 AM, board the shuttle bus to Machu Picchu, ascending through the beautiful Andean cloud forest to reach the legendary Inca Citadel of Machu Picchu.

Upon arrival, meet your professional Machu Picchu guide and begin an immersive 2-hour guided tour, exploring the most important sectors of the ancient Inca city. At Hydroelectric, your tourist transport will be waiting between 2:15 – 2:45 PM for the return journey to Cusco.
