Itinerary

Huaraz - Laguna 69 Lake

Your Laguna 69 adventure tour from Huaraz begins with an early departure at 5:00–6:00 AM, driving through the scenic Callejón de Huaylas valley toward the north. Along the way, we pass traditional Andean villages until reaching Yungay, where you will have a short stop for breakfast and rest.

We then continue into Huascarán National Park, ascending to Laguna Chinancocha (Llanganuco Lake) at 3,850 m, a stunning turquoise glacial lake—perfect for photos and panoramic views of the surrounding peaks.

The journey continues to Cebollapampa (3,900 m), the trailhead of the Laguna 69 hike. From here, we begin a moderate to challenging high-altitude trek, passing through Andean valleys, waterfalls, and quenual forests (Polylepis trees).

As you hike higher, enjoy spectacular views of iconic snow-capped mountains in the Cordillera Blanca, including Nevado Huascarán (6,768 m), Chacraraju (6,112 m), Pisco Mountain (5,752 m), and Yanapaccha (5,460 m).

After approximately 3–4 hours of trekking, you will reach the breathtaking Laguna 69 (4,600 m), one of the most beautiful lakes in Peru, famous for its intense turquoise color and dramatic alpine scenery. Here, you’ll have time to rest, enjoy your lunch, and capture incredible photos.
