Itinerary

Day 1: Huaraz – Llámac - Rondoy 4200m

05:00 AM: Early departure from Huaraz by private transport towards the village of Llámac, the starting point of the Huayhuash trekking route. Along the way, enjoy scenic views of the Andes mountain range and traditional highland landscapes.

Upon arrival at Llámac, we begin the initial hike into the Cordillera Huayhuash, following a gradual ascent through rural paths and remote valleys. This first trekking section is a great introduction to the high-altitude trekking experience.

After approximately 4–5 hours of hiking, we arrive at the Rondoy campsite (4,200 m), surrounded by impressive mountain scenery. Here, we set up camp, rest, and enjoy panoramic views of the Andes.

Day 2: Rondoy - Zambunya pass 4750m - Jahuacocha 4070m

06:00 AM: After breakfast at the campsite, we begin the ascent towards Zambunya Pass (4,750 m), one of the highlights of the Huayhuash trekking route. The trail becomes steeper as we gain altitude, offering spectacular panoramic views of the Cordillera Huayhuash and surrounding peaks.

Upon reaching the Zambunya Pass, enjoy breathtaking views of the Andes mountain range, including impressive snow-capped mountains and remote valleys. This is a perfect spot for photos and a short rest.

We then descend gradually towards Jahuacocha Lake (4,070 m), one of the most beautiful lakes in the region. The descent takes approximately 3–4 hours, passing through diverse Andean landscapes and open valleys.

Upon arrival at Jahuacocha campsite, we set up camp and relax, enjoying incredible sunset views over the mountains. Overnight in tents surrounded by pristine nature.

Day 3 :Jahuacocha - Yaucha Pass - Ancoshcancha

06:00 AM: After breakfast, we start the challenging ascent to Yaucha Pass, one of the highest points of the Huayhuash 4-Day Trek. The trail climbs steadily, offering impressive panoramic views of the Cordillera Huayhuash, including iconic peaks and surrounding valleys.

Upon reaching the Yaucha Pass, take time to rest and enjoy spectacular Andean mountain scenery and photo opportunities. This viewpoint provides a unique perspective of the remote highlands and glacial landscapes.

We then begin a gradual descent towards Ancoshcancha campsite, walking through open terrain and beautiful high-altitude landscapes. The hike takes approximately 6–7 hours in total.

Upon arrival, we set up camp and relax, surrounded by peaceful nature. Overnight in tents.

Day 4 : Ancoshcancha -Pampa Llamac - Huaraz

06:00 AM: After breakfast, we begin the final day of our Huayhuash 4-Day Trek, descending from Ancoshcancha towards Pampa Llamac. This section of the trail offers beautiful Andean landscapes and a relaxed hiking experience compared to previous days.

The descent takes approximately 3–4 hours, passing through open valleys and traditional highland scenery. Along the way, you can enjoy the last views of the Cordillera Huayhuash mountain range.

Upon arrival at Pampa Llamac, we meet our transport and begin the return journey to Huaraz. Arrival in Huaraz is expected in the afternoon, marking the end of this unforgettable high-altitude trekking adventure in Peru.
