Trip Details

Day 1: Arrival and Cultural Welcome

  • Arrive at the native community near Ausangate, where you’ll be warmly welcomed by local residents. Begin with an introduction to the community’s history, traditions, and cultural practices.
  • Homestay Accommodation:Settle into a homestay with a local family. This accommodation provides an authentic glimpse into the daily lives of the community members, fostering a direct connection with their way of life.
  • Cultural Exchange:Engage in a cultural exchange with community members. Participate in traditional ceremonies, share stories, and learn about the significance of local customs. Enjoy a traditional Andean meal prepared by your host family.

Day 2: Exploration of Ausangate’s Natural Beauty

  • Guided Hike to Ausangate:Embark on a guided hike to explore the stunning landscapes around Ausangate. Marvel at the glacial lakes, vibrant mountain flora, and the awe-inspiring presence of the sacred mountain itself.

What To Bring

  • Hiking poles (or you can rent one pair from us).
  • Rain gear (especially if traveling in the wet season, from October to March).
  • Comfortable hiking clothes, including warm clothes for the nighttime.
  • Good hiking boots with protector ankle or similar, and one pair of flip-flops or light sandals.
  • Sunblock and sunglasses.
  • Hiking long sleeve T-shirts.
  • Hiking trousers.

  • Thermal layers (pants, t-shirt).
