Itinerary

Day 1: Arequipa - Chivay

Early morning pick-up from your hotel in Arequipa in tourist-class transportation to begin the Colca Canyon Classic Tour 2 Days. The journey follows a high-altitude scenic route the Salinas and Aguada Blanca National Reserve, a protected area known for its rich Andean wildlife, including vicuñas, alpacas, and migratory birds.

We ascend to the Patapampa Andes viewpoint (4,910 m / 16,108 ft), the highest point of the route, offering panoramic views of volcanic peaks such as Misti, Chachani, and Ampato. This stop allows or acclimatization and high-altitude photography.

Upon arrival in Chivay, the main hub of the Colca Valley, you will enjoy lunch at a local restaurant (optional). In the afternoon, there is an optional visit to the Yanque thermal baths, where you can relax in natural geothermal pools with therapeutic properties.

In the evening, you may attend an optional Andean folkloric show, followed by an overnight stay in a standard or upgraded hotel in Chivay.

Day 2: Chivay - Cruz del Condor - Yanque- Arequipa.

After an early breakfast, we depart towards the Cruz del Condor viewpoint, the most iconic observation point of the Colca Canyon. Here, you will experience condor flight observation, a key highlight of any Colca Canyon tour, while appreciating the canyon’s extraordinary depth and geological formations.

On the return journey, we conduct interpretive stops in traditional villages such as Maca and Yanque, where you can observe colonial architecture, local markets, and cultural heritage.

We then return to Chivay for lunch (optional) before continuing the back to Arequipa, once again crossing the Andean highlands and the protected reserve.

Arrival in Arequipa is scheduled for approximately 4:30 pm Aprox.
