Day 1: Base Camp Arrival and Acclimatization
Morning: Arrive at our base camp, where experienced guides will welcome you. Following a comprehensive briefing, gear up for an exhilarating climb. Lunch is served before setting out for an acclimatization trek, ensuring you adjust comfortably to the high-altitude environment.
Evening: Return to base camp for a hearty dinner and unwind around a campfire. Engage with fellow climbers and absorb the tranquil atmosphere in preparation for the summit day.
Day 2: Summit Day – Conquer Jampa Peak
Early Morning: Rise early to a nourishing breakfast before commencing the ascent to Jampa Peak. Led by seasoned guides, navigate through diverse landscapes, each step revealing panoramic vistas of the surrounding peaks.
Summit: Reach the summit of Jampa Peak and bask in the accomplishment of conquering this challenging climb. Enjoy unparalleled views of the Ausangate range and capture the moment with a sense of triumph.
Descent and Farewell: Descend to base camp for a celebratory lunch before bidding farewell to this iconic peak. Reflect on your achievement and relish the memories of this compact yet exhilarating adventure.
Itinerary
Day 1: Cusco - Tinki - Pacchanta - Pachaspata
We will depart from Cusco at 6:00am by a public bus, reaching village Tinke around 9:30am. Here in Tinke we have an Andean typical breakfast. From the village Tinke we will take a private transport (about 1 hour) to village Packchanta (3800m) where we will have a snack and meet the muleteer and horses to carry our big rucksacks up to the base camp Pachaspata (4800m). We will hike with our small daypacks containing water and snack for 2 hours until reaching the Laguna Verde, where we will have a bag lunch and afterwards we will hike for another 2 hours until the base camp. The rest of the day we
will spend preparing a gear for the next day summit and resting, cooked dinner included.
Day 2: Pacchanta – Pachaspata - Cusco
We will get up at 4am, take a breakfast and walk 2 hours with our head torches until we reach the glacier. There we will put on our crampons, the harnesses with the ropes, get ready the ice axes, have a snack and continue for another 3.5 hours to the summit. During the ascent, in the middle of the glacier we will approach a strip of a rock formation (light climbing) for which we will dismount the crampons. At the peak we will have a time to take photos, appreciate the views and have a light meal. We will return taking the same route to the base camp (3 hours). At the base camp we will have a cooked lunch and rest for about an hour before hiking down to the village Packchanta (4 hours). Here we will encounter our private transport to Tinke (1 hour) and from there a public bus to Cusco (3hours). We will reach Cusco at about 8.30 pm.
