Itinerary
Day 1: Quito, Ecuador
Start Time: 08:00 AM Elevation: 5,300 m / 17,388 ft. Depart from Quito (2,800 m) and drive south along the famous Avenue of the Volcanoes, crossing scenic Andean landscapes on the way to the Chimborazo Wildlife Reserve. The drive takes approximately 4 hours.
Arrival at the Hermanos Carrel Refuge (4,800 m), followed by the ascent to the high camp at approximately 5,300 m, where the expedition team will set up a 4-season mountain tent camp for the night.
This day is focused on high-altitude acclimatization and preparation for the Chimborazo glacier climb, allowing climbers to rest before the midnight summit push on Chimborazo Volcano (6,310 m).
After dinner, rest until late evening before preparing climbing equipment and beginning the summit ascent.

Accommodation: Overnight in 4-season mountain tent camp
Day 2: Chimborazo summit
Start Time: 12:00 AM Elevation: 6,268 m / 20,564 ft. Around midnight, begin the high-altitude glacier ascent of Chimborazo Volcano, the highest mountain in Ecuador and one of the most challenging climbs in the Andes. The summit push takes approximately 6–8 hours across snow and glacier terrain using crampons, ice axe, and rope systems.
Arrival at the summit (6,268 m / 20,564 ft.) is expected early in the morning, offering spectacular panoramic views of the Ecuadorian Andes and surrounding volcanoes. After time to rest and take photographs, begin the descent back to the high camp, which takes approximately 3–4 hours.
At high camp, pack expedition gear and continue descending about 2 hours to the parking area, where private transportation will be waiting for the return drive to Quito.
