Recommendations:

  • A light hat for the sun. Some hours of the day have a bright sun that can be annoying for some and a hat can be the solution. But make sure it is light and does not take up too much space.
  • In rainy season it is highly recommended to carry a poncho to avoid getting wet and not having to carry an umbrella.

What To Bring

This trail sometimes gets a little rougher, especially if we are not properly prepared, so on your list of things to bring you should include quick-drying t-shirts (polo shirts), long-sleeved polo shirts are a good option to enjoy the trail as these avoid the bite of some sporadic mosquitoes,

  • For versatility, you should also pack zippered trekking pants (these pants are very useful as sometimes the humid heat of the jungle can make your adventure uncomfortable). You can wear them in both hot and cold climates and, above all, they are very light.
  • Trekking shoes. Try to pack good trekking shoes to avoid any inconveniences during the trek; preferably take a pair of trekking shoes that you are already used to (not new) for comfort; remember that new shoes usually cause blisters on your feet, so better avoid them.
  • Shoes to wear for the Short Inca Trail trekking
