Itinerary
Day 1 : Arrive in Cusco / Cusco Sightseeing
Our representative will meet with you at Cusco Airport and escort you to your hotel. Free morning to get acclimatized.
At 1:30pm, pick up from the Hotel. Guided sightseeing tour of Cusco including, Koricancha, temple of Sun as well as the colonial cathedral in the Plaza de Armas. The tour continues to Sacsayhuaman, a megalithic ceremonial site designed by the Incas situated on a hill high above the city. The next siite is named Qenqo, a singular limestone outcrop which was used for religious purposes. The tour finishes with a visit to Puca Pucara and Tambomachay. Overnight at Cusco Hotel.

Day 2 : Machu Picchu / Back to Cusco
Breakfast at the hotel; full day Excursion to Machu Picchu, early transfer to the nearby train station to Poroy for the train journey to the mysterious lost city of Machu Picchu. Upon arrival, transfer to the Bus Stop for the short ride (25 minutes) up to the citadel of Machu Picchu. You will participate in a guided tour of the Citadel, visiting the Main Plaza, the Circular Tower, the Sacred Sun Dial (the most important preserved Intihuatana), the Royal Quarters, and the Temple of the Three Windows. Each site is interconnected by narrow pathways surrounded by terraces cut deep into the mountain side. Opportunity to walk (approx 1 hour) up to the Sun Gate (Inti Punku) or climb to the top of Wayna Picchu, with a magnificent view of the whole Sanctuary, return in the afternoon by train to Cusco and transfer to your hotel. Overnight at Cusco Hotel.

Recommendations:
- Buy the ticket to Machu Picchu and train tickets in advance.
- Carry your identity document in your hand luggage.
- Arrive at the train station 30 minutes before departure time.
- You should carry cash, either soles (Peruvian currency) or dollars, in small denominations, because most places in Aguas Calientes do not accept cards.
- Get on very early or in the afternoon, since the most visited hours are from 10 am to 2 pm, this way it will be much easier to enjoy the tour.
- Book flights and train tickets in advance to get the lowest prices.
- Plan your trip, thinking that to get to Cusco you must first get to Lima and leave from there.
- The best time to travel to Machu Picchu is during the months of April to October, which is its dry season, since in the other months it could rain and it would not be possible.
- Carry these items in your backpack as they will be necessary and prices may increase: water, snacks, sunscreen, cookies and other basic products.
