It is not a difficult ride and therefore no experience is necessary. This 4-5 hours Horse Back riding tour provides a fully English speaking guided tour of the less well known side of Cusco. Tips and advice for traveling to Cusco: Currency

The Sol is the official currency of Peru, and you will be able to change euros or dollars in banks and exchange houses without any problem. There are plenty of them in Cuzco.

In most places accept card payments and there are plenty of ATMs in Cuzco to withdraw cash. However, if you are going to shop in local markets, payment will always be in cash.

Medical and health insurance for travel to Cusco.

To travel to Cuzco you do not need any vaccinations. The only health problem you might have is with altitude sickness, as Cuzco is located at 3,350 meters of altitude.

To cope with the altitude, the only thing we used were coca leaves. No medicine. Also for breakfast we drank mate (infusion) of coca daily, or tea directly. The tea was made with 3 or 4 coca leaves in boiled water, letting it steep for a few minutes to release the essence. With that we had no problems.

Internet in Cusco

One of the best options to have internet at all times in Cuzco is Holafly. You receive the card before leaving on your trip, and once at your destination you will have data just by inserting the SIM card or activating the eSIM in your cell phone, in addition to data roaming.

Best places to stay in Cusco

If you are looking for a hotel in Cusco well located, undoubtedly the best area to stay is the neighborhood of San Blas. Next to the market and 10 minutes walk from the Plaza de Armas.

Cuzco Tourist Ticket

To visit the most important places in Cuzco we recommend you to buy the Cusco tourist ticket, which includes a tourist card for 1 to 10 days.

It is especially for those who have little time and want to visit the museums of the city, Maras and Moray, and the entrances to South Valley and Sacred Valley. Come on, that neither painted, as my grandmother used to say.

If you buy the tourist ticket in Cuzco it will be cheaper, but if you book it online you ensure availability.
