The Salar de Uyuni is the largest continuous and high salt desert in the world, with an area of 10,582 km². It is located at about 3,650 meters above sea level in the southwest of Bolivia, in the province of Daniel Campos, in the department of Potosí, within the altiplanic region of the Andes mountain range.
