Your tour will begin at the Main Square of Cusco. The first stop will be at the Cathedral of Cusco where you will get to see unique woodwork and old paintings of Inca symbolism. Next up, you will visit Qoriqancha, also known as Temple of the Sun, on which the Santo Domingo Convent was built.
Legend says that this temple was originally covered in gold, which would have likely impressed the Spanish conquerors upon their arrival. From Cusco, a bus will take you on a quick journey up to a site above the city to visit the nearby archeological sites.
From there you will continue on to the famous site of Sacsayhuaman where you will also be able to enjoy a panoramic view of Cusco. Sacsayhuaman boasts impressive Inca architecture with massive stones over 9 meters (30 feet) tall and weighing up to 125 tons.
Next stop, we will visit Qenqo, the temple of the Puma, where you can see a sacrificial altar made of a huge stone. The final destination will be at Tambomachay, where you will see the sacred fountains of life and health and the nearby military outpust of Puca Pucara that overlooks the south valley and safeguarded the city.
